IPS Paint Supplies Appoints Industrial Business Development Manager

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Thomas as the new Industrial Business Development Manager for IPS Paint Supplies.

Many of you will already know Colin as one of the co-founders of FMP Motor Factors which was sold to the Alliance Automotive Group back in 2019.  Since then, Colin has been supporting the current directors of IPS Paint Supplies in the development of the new business which focusses specifically on the paint market for a number of sectors including automotive and industrial.

To date, the main focus of IPS Paint Supplies has been within the automotive sector due to the expertise carried over from the previous company.  However, early on, when IPS Paint Supplies was first launched, the directors identified that there was a robust market for paint products to the industrial market.  This sector includes sectors such as marine, transport, defence, aerospace, the container market and many more.

Colin brings years of experience to his new role as Industrial Business Development Manager.  He will be responsible for growing the industrial paint side of the business by identifying key sectors and building strong relationships with new and existing clients and suppliers.

Commenting on his appointment Colin says, “When we set up IPS Paint Supplies, we knew from the start that, by focussing on the paint sector, we would have many opportunities for sales and development way beyond the automotive sector which had been the focus of our previous company.   The automotive side of the business is very well-developed with a strong product range and client base. So, now is the time to branch out to specifically target the industrial sectors who use commercial and industrial paint products.

“ Initially our aim was to develop this area of the business at an earlier date, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have held fire until so we can get out and about to visit customers in order to gauge their specific needs and requirements and deliver the highest standards of products and service at all times. We already have a fleet of vans delivering automotive paint across South Wales from Newport to Pembrokeshire and so we are ideally placed to hit the floor running with our industrial paint deliveries too. ”
